Ad‑Hoc Public Holiday (Appointment) Notices

Under Section 3 of the Public Holidays Act, 1995 (Act No. 7 of 1995 as amended by Act No.1 of 2003), His Majesty the King may appoint a specific date to be observed as a public holiday by Legal Notice in the Government Gazette, acting on the advice of the Minister responsible for Home Affairs. The Notice identifies the exact date and becomes legally effective on publication (or on the date stated in the Notice).
